Redwood is what we know best, and we stock it in a range that most yards don’t. Construction common for the job site. Clear, tight-grain for finish work where the wood is going to show. And on the rare end, old-growth material with grain so fine and resonant that woodworkers come to us specifically for instrument tonewood.

These aren’t decorative accents. They’re load-bearing members cut from old-growth timber that was in the ground for centuries before we milled it. When you put one of our architectural beams in a building, you’re putting in something meant to still be there in a hundred years.

Older homes have molding profiles that no longer exist in a catalog. The right approach isn’t to substitute something close — it’s to match it exactly. We grind custom planer knives to reproduce profiles from samples you bring in, so new material blends seamlessly with what’s already there.
